Railway Station
Built around 1915. In those years the railroad line that connected the Cities of San Diego, California and Yuma, Arizona, spread to Mexican territory due to technical circumstances in the design of the same, having as a station the City of Tecate.
The establishment of the railroad marked, without a doubt, the origin of the industrial development of the City and much of the region, contributing to the formation of the industrial corridor Tijuana-Tecate, which facilitated the development of the wine, oil, beer, malt, coffee and cement industries in Baja California.
The Station had on the ground floor a waiting room, office and a winery, the upper floor was occupied as housing by the station chief and was surrounded by the houses of the railway workers and that of the founder of the brewery Mr. Alberto Aldrete.
Today the Station in addition to the brewery and an old coffee maker of the mid-century are part of the historical heritage of Tecate; being an important part of the material culture that occurred between Mexico and the United States in the early twentieth century.
The Station is one of the most culturally and architecturally valuable properties in the City. Currently the line operates only for freight transportation and sightseeing tours are made from Campo California to Tecate.
